Our Founder and Principal, Steven Donald, brings an exceptional breadth and depth of experience to bear on behalf of his clients.
Having lived and worked in countries across the globe – Austria, Finland, Germany, Thailand, Canada, and the U.S. – Steven has acquired a first-hand understanding of the crucial role of culture in business decisions. He understands how to relate to individuals and groups, whether on the factory floor or in the boardroom. He appreciates the nuances of communication, both verbal and non-verbal, and understands the subtleties of cultural idioms and customs. He knows how to work through regional differences to gain the cooperation of government bodies, investors, and partners.
Over the past 25+ years, Steven has successfully implemented multi-million-dollar projects for some of the world’s largest companies. He built a fiber optic cable TV network for Sumitomo Corporation in Bangkok. He set up Deutsche Telekom’s international carrier division in Canada and was appointed as the company’s VP of Global Innovation in Vienna. He cut through the red tape necessary to obtain FCC licensing for I-New (now Cyan) and moved their data center to a new location in Chicago.
Throughout these projects and more, Steven’s strategic decision-making ability has allowed him to open new markets and opportunities for his clients, streamline their operations, and make balanced recommendations regarding capital expenditures.
Steven’s background has given him a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry. In 2017 he founded 19Gauge so he could put that understanding to work for you.
